Master studies at the study program Forestry, are a one-year study program (two semesters). During two semesters the student acquires 60 ECTS. All courses are one-semester and carry the appropriate ECTS number. Within the study program, 2 compulsory courses are studied (Methodology of Scientific Research Work, Biostatistics) and an elective group of courses. By studying compulsory courses, extended knowledge in the field of methodology of scientific research work is obtained, which enables the student to participate in the creation, realization and writing of scientific and professional papers in the field of forestry. By attending these courses, the student also acquires the ability to independently plan, develop and implement research work and project proposals, as well as the ability to apply statistics, statistical methods and basics of planning experiments in forestry as part of biotechnology. The study program Forestry (II cycle of studies) aims to provide a second degree of university education according to the principles of the Bologna Process, which enables the graduate through deeper and more systematic teaching material both the development of knowledge and competencies acquired at the previous level and formal prerequisites for continuing studies at the third study cycle of university education. In addition, upon completion of this study cycle, the student builds and strengthens his/her professional competence in the field of forestry. By taking compulsory courses, the student acquires 10 ECTS, and by taking elective courses another 20 ECTS. Professional practice is performed in the second semester (5 ECTS). By making the final – Master thesis the student can gain 25 ECTS. The total sum of ESTS in the study program is 60.
